Rebuilding Phu-Oc cathedral Print E-mail
The Phu-Oc cathedral, which is located 100 kms south of Hanoi and 3 kms from Nam-Dinh was entirely rebuilt through ANAPI’s help.

In February 1993 the complete rebuilding of the Phu-Oc cathedral was launched. This project was undertaken at the request of colonel TRAN DINH VY who was a former member of Commando VANDEN and who was born near Phû-Oc and once ANAPI’s national board had agreed to it. The Phu-Oc cathedral, which is located 100 kms south of Hanoi and near the big city of Nam-Dinh was built in 1928 and destroyed in 1968 by the American air force. It was officially inaugurated in March 1999.

It is a stunning achievement; the cathedral can host more than 5000 people. The new building is eight times larger than the original one and is a model of the genre. For several years 3 teams operated round the clock in eight-hour shifts. The cathedral is considered to be the most beautiful in the whole of Vietnam aside from the Saigon and Hanoi cathedrals which are older.

  Building a clinic in Phu-Oc

At the request of Phu-Oc’s mayor, ANAPI funded the building of this clinic approximately 300 metres from the cathedral
